| D&S makes different products to control different types of signals. Some plug directly onto Digitrax's BDL168 block detector, some require a driver that plugs in between the BDL168 and the signal controller. Connection from the controller to the signal heads, and between controllers, is via six-conductor flat telco cable (not included). This is the same as LocoNet cabling so, if you have the components and a crimp tool, you can make them yourself. Or you can tell us what lengths you need and whether they need one or two plugs (for signal connection or interconnect between modules). Controllers require 12 volts DC. It is permissible to connect more than one module to a single power supply as long as the amperage needs of the boards and signal lights do not exceed the power supply's capability. |

| This device plugs into the BDL168's LED connection and provides opto-isolation for sending block occupancy signals to other devices such as lights and LEDs, the DS54, signal controllers, or anything else with its 50mA limitation per output. The EX8 plugs onto two of the BDL168's outputs, providing isolation for eight of the detected blocks. A second EX8 can be plugged onto the other two outputs for full detection transmission. |

The SL-4x2 controller connects
directly to the Digitrax BDL168 LED
connectors with a 10-conductor ribbon cable (not included). Each module
is capable of controlling four block signals heads in two directions,
or a total of eight signal heads per module. |

| This power supply can power two to three D&S controllers, depending on the lights you use and the railroad's traffic (more traffic, more power needs). |
